Staying at home for a date-night, or simply with our loved ones, in these challenging times, does not necessarily mean that the art of romance is fading, or whether the sheer showing of appreciation and love is old fashioned. Celebrating together, separate, or virtually, that perfect ambience can still be created by sending one of our Valentine Hampers to the people we love and value and make their Valentine Day, this year, an extra memorable one!
We are delighted, at The Fourteas, to launch our brand-new Valentine Hampers introduced for the first time, in a limited edition, for our friends and fans. Beautifully decorated with red hearts and rose petals, these Hampers will enchant and deliver a nostalgic -and delicious- gift to the comfort and safety of their home.
Filled with wonderful treats, designed to spoil someone special, our Food of Love Hamper (at £65) includes:
Alternatively, our Valentine’s version of our “Cream-Tea Box” will also make a perfect gift at £19.40. Packed in a WW2 replica Gas Mask Box, our cream tea includes delicious freshly baked fruit scones, strawberry jam and clotted cream, this time also including the new “Morning Sunshine’ green tea blend. A gift to be appreciated by any recipient, irrespective of age, a symbolic reminder of some other type of a face mask, of another era.
William Shakespeare’s famous quote “If music be the food of love, play on”, is now humbly, but confidently adjusted to the wittiness of the Fourteas’ very own “If our Valentine’s Hampers be the food of love, eat on!”
Satisfaction is guaranteed in just the same!
All of our Ivor Novello Afternoon Tea Vouchers have been extended until 31st December 2021.
We understand that many of you have been unable to use bought or gifted Afternoon Tea Vouchers last year due to the circumstances.
We look forward to being able to open our doors again soon and eagerly await your return to us in the future.
We are finally open again and ready to see all of our wonderful customers!
After closing in March this year due to the Covid-19 Pandemic we were all worried about how this would affect our day to day life, what consequences this would hold and when we would next have a proper cup of tea.
No need to worry as we are open once again and our tea is just as delicious as ever.
There are new guidelines we have to follow now we are open again, which is applied everywhere through the shop to the highest standard. Despite this, we wanted the shop to feel the same before, so besides our new single use menu you can take home with you, the shop has the same feel as before! We are happy to announce all our new seating areas, which are detailed in other news posts if you would like to look at them. We now have;
Our Peace Garden, our Main Lounge, our Patio Area, new seating outside the front of the shop and a re-done Officers Mess ready for meetings, conferences and private functions/events.
We hope to see everyone back with us soon!
We have opened our wonderful Peace Garden again to the public. It has been closed for over a year and we are so happy that it is finally back in use.
We have many spaced out tables which are spread out all around our replica Anderson shelter that we built. The tables also have umbrellas, so some nice shade for a sunny day or for protection against one of those 2 minute showers that are just so typical of the English weather.
With a brand new archway full of Jasmine buds and garden tables, it is the perfect area to host people in large numbers while keeping them safe outside.
Our Peace Garden is usually open on weekends and Fridays, weather permitting.
Our beautifully designed Spitfire Room is located upstairs.
We have had a custom, fully operational bar unit built, which adds to the self-sufficient use of the room. With specially selected colours for the walls and carpet and hand-picked decorations, the room has a serious yet stylish feeling.
This is exactly what you could want for events or functions, with the new layout perfecting its use for meetings and conferences.
To book this room, you can phone us and enquire after it.
In our Main Lounge we have had to make a few changes following new social distancing rules. Our tables have more room, we have a new one-way system in place and you can sanitize your hands throughout the store.
As you can see from our pictures, even with all of these new precautions, we haven’t changed who we are. Our gorgeous decorations are still proudly displayed, and the 1940’s ambiance is as present as ever, we are still highly sought after and we will provide you with a unique experience, second to none.
If you are reading this you have obviously reached the Face of our new Website.
Which is an old one anyway bearing in mind that it is designed to look like a Forties Newspaper.
We hope you can understand why we feature our images in black and white. Do not let that put you off. The minute your cursor is on any one of them, they turn Full Colour and you are automatically transferred to today’s looks.
There is a noisy telephone number that rings once, as soon as your cursor touches it. Again this is the old Telephone ring tone no longer around. And have you noticed how the Date of our Newspaper is always updated?
The Fourteas goes Forties in every way.
We invite you, our guest to write to us with whatever comments you want to make about our Services and Products. We promise we shall not serve your tea cold if your comments are not totally favourable. We know we are perfect, but as human beings some things may have slipped our attention.
